Version v046 Update!


Hello!

Since the original release in January, we have been working towards making our submission to Geta Jam 10 as well crafted and built as possible, where the original plan was to work through this over the course of a couple of months, then stop and move on to the next project from there.

However, it turns out this dragged on for an extra few months, so we could iron out that extra little 2D sprite, 3D model, sound effect, or programmed features, or isolate a infuriatingly stubborn bug that just wouldn't go away, or the world being locked into a state of quarantine because some dude decided to chomp on a bat and get everyone sick, this year's been a weird one for sure.

BUT the point is a new update is here with the game in its current form, available for 32 and 64-Bit Windows, Linux and Mac Operating Systems! Be sure to check it out!

Below are a full list of changes applied since the initial release, including those to address the feedback we have received, however for a full experience on how the game is currently designed, I would recommend trying out the game for yourself first, then coming back to see if there is something you'd missed along the way!

  • A limitation has been applied to the Player's Camera when looking up and down, preventing an issue with the Player walking in place while starting directly up or down.
  • The Pressure Plate Puzzle now has the ability to reset previously stepped on Pressure Plates if the wrong one is activated.
  • The Safe Dial now turns in 15 degree increments, allowing for easier input.
  • The Tumble Block Puzzle now features textures more closely related to the corresponding poem.
  • Jumping has been disabled.
  • The reticle taking place in the middle of the screen is now more reliable for detecting which objects can/can't be interacted with.
  • Right-Click allows the Player to zoom in
  • New designs surrounding each door, providing a red light if the puzzle in the room you are in is unsolved, but turns green once the puzzle is solved!
  • Doors now only open if the puzzle is solved, and the Player walks up to it, and shuts behind the Player once they move to the next room, rather than remain open indefinitely.
  • A bug has been fixed, preventing the Player from moving the Colour Tile up and down while looking directly at them.
  • If the correct combination is entered on the Colour Tile Puzzle, then an incorrect combination is entered, the door will not open.
  • Puzzle Rooms are now randomly generated, with a 1 in 5 chance to spawn each puzzle room.
  • In the room with the Chess Pieces, the Pop-up sign has been removed, and in its place, the Player can walk up to the table containing the Chess Pieces, then pick up a chess piece to carry with them.
  • The Colour Tile Puzzle will only show in its designated room, rather than all rooms containing a puzzle.
  • A new door has been added to the Safe Puzzle, including a button on the Safe Dial itself.
  • There is now an option on the Main Menu screen to toggle Full Screen mode as the game opens in Windowed Mode by default for 1280x720 Resolution.
  • The TV in the Chess Puzzle room will now flicker with the number of Chess Pieces required to finish the game.

Known Bugs/Issues:

  • Textures may flicker.
  • When interacting with the Colour Tile Puzzle, there is a  chance the Player can slide the red tile into the correct position, then step back from the door, the door can close back in on itself, but walking back towards the door will open/close as normal.
  • When opening the door to the Safe, the blue button may not activate when pressing E right away. As a temporary workaround, the player will need to look away from the button, look back at the button, then press E to solve the puzzle.
  • Framerate and performance issues can occur for older computers running this game.
  • Not much in the way of variety for puzzles once the Player's gotten to know each room's solution.
  • The resolution for this game is limited to supporting 16:9 aspect ratio, with currently no options for other resolutions, nor adapting to the player's current screen resolution.
